Posted October 10th, the above entry elicited a number of comments asking for clarity. A person would have to call the plant themselves for more information as Mr Mobley's remarks were made in response to a number of individual comments.
What showed up on Craigslist was slightly different:
So there you have it, MMM&S has established a baseline price structure that basically takes local competitors off at the knees. MMM&S and Mike's Meats have already muddied the "Alaska Grown" designation, with misleading advertising....but readers may recall that MMM&S now imports Canadian cattle direct to the slaughter plant. In addition, Mike's Meats/Rocket Ranch, bring in hundreds of weaner pigs from Canada each year.
They either presume they will capture the lion's share of the market and intend on being that lion, or they've seriously miscalculated the economy, the market, and/or their investment and are pushed to increase sales. Or something else entirely, one can only speculate.
Smaller producers, and those who raise bred and born in Alaska livestock, grown on Alaskan feed, cannot come close to matching the above advertised prices. Especially not with cut and wrap included, never mind the other fees.
However, many people ascribe to the saying:
Know your farmer, know your food!
Next up: Food "trigger" words.....stay tuned!

They have no shame. They would love to bury all small farmers and cut them out of the picture.
Look how they threw their pigs right in the middle of the ad and tried to hide the fact they aren’t Alaska Grown. Consumers need to be aware of this. You also can’t forget about all the Canadian cows that are being brought in. Meat gets mixed who knows what you end up with.
Why you people say things about me I make fair deal with Arthur Keys on slaughter plant if not for me you people not have any place to killy yu animals you all need to shut the fuck up and be nice to me. I save agricultural in state of Alaska. Greg
M.M.M.& S. does offer a variety of products from a number of different locations. We do not offer one claiming it's the other. We refuse to lie, cheat, or use subterfuge to move our products. We're here to offer our products at a reasonable price. We purchase local, ALASKAN GROWN livestock at decent prices from hard working ALASKAN farmers. We provide our services to ALASKAN FARMERS and are ALASKAN. We are also in business to stay in business. As you know the meat plant, under the states direction, was neither profitable nor made enough to pay for itself. When Greg took over the plant on May 16th, he set about making the changes necessary to turn it around. We bring in Canadian beef, slaughter, process, primal, and ship them to wholesale and retail outlets. Why is this process any different from the boxed meat you buy from Fred Meyer, Safeway, Carrs, Walmart, or Three Bears purchasing products from Swift and IGA? Do I ever hear you complaining about these local businesses attempting to drive the poor John Andersons of the local farming community out of business? Nope! Do I ever hear you slander and criminalize these enterprising entities for their endeavors to turn a profit? Folks, plain and simple, that is what MMM&S is striving to do. We strive to be profitable while providing the same services to all local ALASKAN farmers who use our facility to slaughter and process/ship their animals. If you want Alaskan, grass fed beef... We have it for you. If you want Alaskan, grass fed, grain finished beef... We have it for you. If you want Canadian, grass fed, grain finished beef... The next shipment is a few weeks away; but call us and I'll cut it the way you want it. And if you want fresh, Yorkshire cross pigs, we have them.
My rant and rave

.37 cents a pound for Alaska grown beef is what you call a decent price? You should be ashamed. That sir is robbery! You claim all these great things about what you are doing yet I know of no one increasing their operation due to your facility. The back door deal you made with Arthur and Ben are something that will be exposed. The lies are being noticed. Call your pigs whatever you want to hide the truth. Mix all your meat together so no one knows the truth. It’s ok, people have caught on. The desperation in the voice is noticeable.
If none of this is true please make a posting of how much you pay for animals. Alaskan farmers would love to bring you animals to slaughter and be paid a fair price. Tell us the fair prices you pay.
